Fall Preview Part II: From Magic to Malice

In the second of the three episodes of our Fall Preview, Patti Quatro and I take a deep dive into the last two seasons of the podcast and what’s to come in Season Three. We reflect upon growing up in the music biz, the difference between the Detroit and L.A. music scenes, the various players and musicians along the way, the magic and the malice of it all, and so much more! This is an all-exclusive and revelatory conversation about what it’s really like to grow up and work in the business of music. Join us, won’t you?

  1. That line “couldn’t tune your guitar” Sounds familiar.. June did the same to me ON STAGE!! Must be the quintessential guitar put down. Thanks you guys for clearing the record for me. Love your honesty and truth telling.. Thank you for setting the record straight. I did sign the contract, then left after Perry wanted our part of the publishing and writing royalties.. and then lied to the girls.. I heard him say it in Herb Cohn’s office on speaker box. If he would lie in the beginning.. then I could not trust the suits. that’s when I confronted him and quit. So the truth comes out finally.. and I was 19 when we signed. LOL.. but still a pup. ADDIE

    1. TRUTH WILL ALWAYS OUT!!!!! IMHO!!!! THAT HUGE TENT OF FEMALE TALENT SO SO SO MUCH INCLUDED ADDIE LEE WHO WAS THE MAIN SINGER AND LEAD GUITAR IN THE BAND “WILD HONEY” THAT WAS SIGNED, AND BECAME FANNY AS ADDIE LEFT!!! NO REVISIONIST HISTORY ON THIS PODCAST!!!

  2. OMG.. adequate? OMG.. that describes June at best, not Patti. These revelations are mind-blowing. The back-fighting started way before the signing. This is why Alice and I left June and Jean in the first place.. June was a dominant force and ruled with an iron fist. A very difficult personality to work with. We had just had enough. Jean was too timid to leave June. And so as I listen, I am so glad I left and was not a part of the continuing drama. Not my style. Can’t wait to hear the 3rd part of this.

    1. EXACTLY…….SO UNNECESSARY and demeaning. Belief mine you support the fab talented female musicians ALWAYS……didn’t we have enough trouble entering a men’s club. Good grief!!!!!

    2. A tad unnecessary with all the amazing female talented musicians back then. Didn’t we have enough hard road breaking into the men’s club!!! I never ever experienced this kind of shade in Detroit Rock City…..’nut said!!! Thank you for filling in some gaps also!!

    3. Now to be clear, we did get back together, but as Wild Honey, the name myself and Alice played as before the reunion. They were still the Svelts.
