After a brief intermission from Act I of Fanny’s rock opera on the last episode, we continue discussing in depth the script and music of “Rock and Roll Survivors” live in 1974. Patti explains how the rock opera was a commentary on social issues plaguing so many groups during the time of sex, drugs, and rock & roll, as well as gender and sexual orientation. Fanny’s rock opera not only holds up musically, it remains a fascinating storyline and narrative that continues to reflect and resonate the chaos and confusion in the world more than fifty years after its debut.

Episode 11 and 12 ROCK! Is there a copy of the “Rock Opera” that fans can purchase? Thanks so much Patti and Kristen for sharing. This is brilliant and way before it’s time! Patti what a great contribution brought to Fanny! How many shows of the “Rock Opera” did Fanny perform? What year was this? Would love to see the 12 page script! Keep it coming ladies – it just keeps getting better – oh and FYI – my favorite song by Fanny at the moment is “Long Distance Lover” no wait “Get Out of the Jungle” – oh who am I kidding – I love all Fanny Songs from Rock and Roll Survivors!
Hi Melanie! The rock opera was performed in the U.S. and the U.K. in 1974. There’s 50 mins + in full (live recording) that we’re working on to getting released. Not ready to share yet, because it’s all being cultivated, but stay tuned! Isn’t it awesome…? I’m in awe that I get to work with Patti. And Brie and Patti soon! xo

Credit to the rock n roll gods that I was for some reason a little archivist of everything we did, from Quatros and on thru Fanny and beyond. TY SO SO MUCH for your comments and so glad you are enjoying what we are bringing into the light FINALLY. As Kristen says, the plan is to be able to get out the entire script as well as a double album with the Rock Opera and the remixes of our 5th album. We are going as fast as we can but there is so much material that we have, as well as there will be merch too. This is truly a labor of love and our entire goal is to shine light and fill in gaps as we widen our female musician lens way in future!!! The momentum just keeps building and we are having a blast!!! Thanks again!!! Rock on!!!
