S2:E6 The Bookends of John and Yoko
On this very special episode of Backstage Pass, I’m joined by authors Madeline Bocaro and Laurie Kaye, who have both written phenomenal books on their time, experience, and love of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Madeline Bocaro’s book, “In Your Mind: The Infinite Universe of Yoko Ono” and Laurie Kaye’s book, “Confessions of a Rock ‘n’ Roll Name-Dropper: My Life Leading Up to John Lennon’s Last Interview” are quintessential books that any rock ‘n’ roll lover and aficionado should have in their collection. We get to hear Madeline and Laurie reflect on the others’ work, and why the importance of John and Yoko’s art, music, and messages are still as pertinent and important today as they were when the couple got together in the late 1960s. It’s a provocative and personal episode about two fans and friends of John and Yoko. Madeline Bocaro and Laurie Kaye have each written extraordinarily special books that should and must be bookends, because both narratives help to illuminate the love and lives of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
