Fanny on Fire and that Big, Fat Deep Pocket

On the second episode of this Mighty-Series, Brie and Patti discuss more about Fanny’s ’74 New Year’s Eve performance at the Whisky a Go-Go. We listen to their cover of “Young and Dumb” (Ike and Tina Turner) not heard in over 50 years! Imagine knowing John Lennon was in the audience when you listen to it. We also talk about the four band members – Nickey, Jean, Patti, and Brie, and the “no drama” vibes between them. “We had fun!” as Patti said, and you can hear it in their music! The episode ends with Fanny’s cover of “Sally Go Round the Roses” off of the “Rock and Roll Survivors” album on Casablanca Records.

    1. Sorry I’m only seeing this now, Guy! Short but sweet works for me. It’s the shortest one of the miniseries, and the next four are substantive. Thank you as always for your support! <3
